ATIF CEO Liu Jun Shows Why Social Responsibility Is Important in Business

直击美股

Several months ago, ATIF CEO Liu Jun flew to the United States for his client’s IPO. What is unexpected is that the COVID-19 pandemic temporarily blocked his way back to China. Without feeling frustrated, Liu soon took the full advantages of his spare time to setup his US office for ATIF.

“Being trapped here due to the pandemic makes me have time to establish our global headquarters in the United States.” Liu Jun commented, “Recently, I have observed the industry and found that there is no such a company like ATIF. We can be a unique one here, forming diversified business structure and seeking new growth points. Meanwhile, the new headquarters in Los Angeles will enable our company to have access to more U.S. capital market resources, gather more information in a timely manner, and reach more investors.”

While being busy with his new business, Liu has also been following the COVID-19 news and the situation in the U.S. In the wake of the epidemic earlier this year, Liu donated nearly two million face masks to the cities of Wuhan and Shenzhen. At the time, medical supplies such as masks were in high demand but in short supply. And ATIF’s donation was in the first batch that arrived at the frontline. Later, when the US became the most affected area, Liu quickly immediately collected and donated 30,000 masks to New York City and Los Angeles, which were distributed to hospitals, government offices, police stations, and the Nasdaq Stock Exchange.

Some people called Liu a hero who helped several big cities in two countries, but Liu replied, “I just did the right thing.

“We now know that the most effective way to prevent the spread of coronavirus is wearing a mask, which was unaccepted and unrecognized by western countries several months ago. Even so, we still donated face masks to the United States. Fortunately, more and more Americans started to wear masks.”

Last December, being at ATIF’s Hong Kong office, when Liu first heard the news of possible novel pneumonia happened in Wuhan, he quickly connected the virus to SARS. He remembered that the prevention of SARS mainly relied on masks. So, he arranged his colleagues to collect and purchase masks right away.

“I kept looking for masks retailers and factories in order to get the first one million pieces. When we finally got them, the news of the Covid-19 outbreak in Wuhan was just announced,” Liu said.

“There’s no time to hesitate. We worked overtime to send the masks to Wuhan. Thanks to the Shenzhen Customs, delivery was very fast.” Liu recalled.

Chinese New Year’s Eve should be the time for a family reunion. However, Liu Jun and other ATIF employees volunteered to stay at the office to count and pack medical supplies. Many of them even missed the once-a-year family dinner.

It didn’t take long that they receive a thanks note from a vice mayor from Hubei province, saying ATIF’s masks just arrived in time. Otherwise, many medical workers would have been exposed to the virus.

Since then, Liu has been led his team to donate more medical supplies. They also sent out over 800,000 masks to ATIF’s headquartered city, Shenzhen.

The press reporting about Liu and his company’s donation during the pandemic impressed a lot of people, including investors, which has helped the company’s market value increased by $100 million in one day.

Liu said what ATIF had done is “purely an act of charity and love”, and he believed, “Chinese entrepreneurs should take more social responsibility.”

Liu and his ATIF are also the winner of “Golden Bauhinia Award,” the highest level of award in Chinese finance industry.

In April, ATIF completed the acquisition of controlling interest in Leaping Group Co., Ltd. (LGC), holding 51.2% stock rights of LGC. The move is believed to expand ATIF’s original business and improve its stock performance.

Last month, ATIF signed consulting contracts with Shenzhen Agrecoe Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Yinfu Gold Corp (OTC: ELRE) and Advertising Co., Ltd. (WKG), funneled $2.8 million.

By now, ATIF had donated 1.73 million masks in both China and the United States to help with the fight against COVID-19. Currently, the virus curve has been flattening, Liu returned to his routine. He said, “I always believe that an entrepreneur with love, social responsibility, and long-term development vision will be able to help the enterprise go further on the international stage.”
